Our home study experience was very positive, thorough and professional; their process is outlined and detailed. We found the staff to be knowledgeable about all areas of adoption. They walked us through all of the steps we needed to take and we felt they were interested in us and excited for us as we adopted a new member into our family. We recommend Adoption & Beyond to anyone we know who is thinking about pursuing an adoption.

This was the agency I used for a home study, which I requested be expedited, due to the age of the child I was adopting internationally (9 years old). The process was smooth, efficient, and very quick. I was in China six months from the date I first saw her picture. (Lutheran Family Services had given me an estimate of three months before they could make their FIRST home visit!) I found both Stefani and Amy to be helpful and caring. and our follow-up home visits very pleasant, yet thorough. I think they were as charmed by my daughter as I was!! While being fingerprinted in St. Joseph, Missouri, I was told that this agency was "used a lot" in the area, which surprised me, as it is some distance from Overland Park. I have also attended one of their informational meetings and found the information they presented to be both invaluable and REALISTIC concerning the issues adoptive children (and parents) may face as the children begin to explore their unique identities. I plan to use them again!
It is our opinion, along with others we have networked with after our very bad experience, that this agency does an outstanding job of portraying a professional and friendly atmosphere and that they are in fact efficient. If you are blessed to have an adoption experience that has absolutely no problems you will no doubt be fine with Adoption and Beyond. However, this, in our experience, is not the agency you want to be working with if you run into any problem of any kind. Our phone calls and e-mails were ignored and we were flat out lied to. We encourage you as successful adoptive parents, to pursue your adoption with all the excitement and love that accompanies your decision, but exercise due diligence when researching and choosing an agency; it can save you immeasurable heartache and countless dollars.
