This was the agency I used for a home study, which I requested be expedited, due to the age of the child I was adopting internationally (9 years old). The process was smooth, efficient, and very quick. I was in China six months from the date I first saw her picture. (Lutheran Family Services had given me an estimate of three months before they could make their FIRST home visit!) I found both Stefani and Amy to be helpful and caring. and our follow-up home visits very pleasant, yet thorough. I think they were as charmed by my daughter as I was!! While being fingerprinted in St. Joseph, Missouri, I was told that this agency was "used a lot" in the area, which surprised me, as it is some distance from Overland Park. I have also attended one of their informational meetings and found the information they presented to be both invaluable and REALISTIC concerning the issues adoptive children (and parents) may face as the children begin to explore their unique identities. I plan to use them again!
Our home study experience was very positive, thorough and professional; their process is outlined and detailed. We found the staff to be knowledgeable about all areas of adoption. They walked us through all of the steps we needed to take and we felt they were interested in us and excited for us as we adopted a new member into our family. The staff at Adoption and Beyond has always been very caring and considerate with our family and has done a terrific job in the timely and quality preparation of the documents that were required. Adoption and Beyond is a great resource prior to adopting, throughout the process and following the adoption. They are very helpful in providing guidance and support as needed. We really enjoyed our experiences with Adoption and Beyond and would highly recommend them to other adoptive families as well.

When we did place, they were there with us throughout the whole process. We can't imagine how we would've survived without their help and personal touch.

Adoption and Beyond provides step-by-step guidance, clearly written instructions for each part of the process, fabulous training that is enjoyable, challenging, & realistic, Christ-centered service & advice, and genuine compassion & caring. My home study process went smoothly and quickly, and I felt well prepared for the realities of an adopted child. After my daughter came home, Adoption and Beyond conducted my Post Placement Visits--which just felt like showing off my new daughter to an old friend!
I have since completed a 2nd home study with Adoption and Beyond. My adoption journey this time around has taken many unexpected detours and encountered numerous delays. For a variety of reasons, I have worked with two foster care agencies, a private adoption agency that works with the foster care system, an international adoption agency, and, of course, Adoption and Beyond. Through it all, Steffany and Caroline and the others at Adoption and Beyond are the ones I turn to when I need advice, encouragement, a sounding board, a shoulder to cry on, or Christian council. They are professional, reasonably-priced, and competent but SO much more important to me, they are completely trustworthy. One of the reasons I feel capable of bringing home a slightly older child this time around is because I know I will have Adoption and Beyond as a resource to help me through the tough stuff. I would wholeheartedly recommend Steffany and Adoption and Beyond to anyone!
