Nope, this is a not a "mistaken agency." Click on the link you provided and you will see that the 3rd page clearly mentions the Wisconsin agency in Milwaukee. Specifically, Melinda Randa and her associate are mentioned by name. Not a mistake!
We regret using this agency and would never do business with them again. If we had only known about this website in advance!!!
This is one strange agency. We have worked with several agencies in the course of building our family but Adoption Choice was the oddest. I agree with the earlier post about one of the partners. With us, the information changed with each new phone call, email, etc. We could never get a straight answer. It added a stress layer to the whole process that didn't need to be there.
I thoroughly recommend that you check their contracts before signing. We made an assumption about the cost of post placements (never spelled out in the contract) and now we are being scalped every time we need a new one. No other agency that we know of charges for post placements like this agency. We should have had a contract, I know.
There are many fine and so-so agencies out there. I would be very careful with this one. Make sure you have everything, absolutely everything in writing.
Dealing with this agency is like riding a roller coaster. One of the two partners is fine; easy to get along with, responsive to your questions, and is respectful and courteous. The other is disrespectful and at times downright nasty, unresponsive to emails and phone messages, and very difficult to deal with. Early in the process, when asked a difficult question, she threatened to cancel my referral. Her response to my inquiries on several occasions was simply "You have to trust us on this!" Although the adoption was successful and I am now blessed to have a wonderful child, I would definitely NOT recommend this agency.
Agency subcontracted with a Mexican attorney and NY consultants who fabricated paperwork for illegal adoptions and smuggled children into the US. This resulted in a federal prosecution and 22 victimized families. Agency never took responsibility, was never held accountable and never apologized. See the links page at www.adoptionagencychecklist.com for the entire story.
