This is a terribly managed, poorly run organization, which lacks severely any form of organization. The founder, James Jones, suffers severely from any motivation to manage and lead this potentially productive organization. The mid level managers are struck with the kind of incompetence, corruption, and favoritism that has crippled third world countries for decades. Decisions are made, not based on what is best for the program or for the kids, but rather, whether friends of the so-called managers benefit from the decisions despite their incompetence and their little value to the program. Mid level managers are unreceptive, and in fact, abusive of employees who do not follow the status quo of laziness and unproductive work hours. Retaliation by imposing unfavorable work hours or limiting work hours are not uncommon.
The front-line employees taking care of the kids are continuously stifled by inconsistent and self-serving managers, and disincentivized to be less than their best despite their best efforts. The resources of the program are poorly appropriated and misused. This is an organization that needs a complete overhaul, strict government oversight, or termination of its existence.
