We adpoted our first child from Catholic Social Services of NC, and we cannot say enough good things about them. They are truly in it for the right reasons. There are many agencies that claim to be Christian with fees that are not very Christian. Catholic Social Services has the most fair fees of any of the religious based agencies or any agency period, and they are so kind, and helpful. They made the adoption of our first son a pure joy. You do not have to be Catholic to use them They do domestic and international adoptions. Our first two children were domestic adoptions, and now we are using Catholic again for our international adoption of a little girl from China. The only reason we did not use them for our second domestic adoption was they were only getting Caucasian babies in our area and we did not want a Caucasian baby because our first child is Hispanic. So we used A Little Bit of Heaven, which was also excellent for our second child. I have also done a review of that agency on this site as well. But I cannot say enough good things about Catholic Social Services. They are truly awesome!
Wonderful agency! We had a great experience. We submitted our dossier in Jan. 2008, and traveled to Moscow to meet our blind referral on Feb. 9, 2008. He was born on our wedding anniversary! We brought our son home on April 22, 2008, so our process went very quickly. He is bright, healthy and our joy!
CSS answered all questions promptly and honestly. They were available by phone and email. The fees were affordable, and clearly explained. Their Russian staff took great care of us. CSS has been working in Russia for over a decade now. Since we have been home with our son, they have been helpful as well, very willing to answer any questions about adjustment or attachment. We also would only use CSS for any future adoptions.
We left Children's Hope International in Oct 07 and signed with CSS that same month. We submitted our dossier Jan 08, travelled blind to Moscow region on Feb 2nd and were home with our very healthy son on April 19th. Had we stayed with CHI we would still be waiting for a referral. We had a great experience with CSS and are already talking about going back for a second child. We will only use CSS for any future adoptions.
