We used Datz for our homestudy only. The social worker was wonderful - but she was a contracted social worker. The agency, not so much. They never respond to emails or proactively call you to let you know the status of any of your requests, you always have to call to be told of the updates.
I cannot believe that people had great experiences with this agency. We had so many delays and tons of mistakes made by Datz. Can you believe they sent our home study to the wrong US-CIS office! It took almost 5 months for our home study to be completed. This was due to the social worker assigned to us only working part time for Datz while working a full time day job. When ever we had contact with him we were always reminded that he was so overwhelmed with his day job. We had all our requirred tasks done quickly. They were not professional plus they were disrespectful. It is not acceptable to be told "shut up or it's all over" and be hung up on by someone high up in the company chain of command. Extreamly disapointing.
We adopted our two children from Russia with the help of the Datz Foundation. I was very happy with how open and honest they were. Anytime I had a question, it was either answered immediately, or it was researched, and I was contacted shortly with an answer. Even though I know they have MANY other clients besides us, I always treated like we were their only family. Even when there was no news, I always got a phone call to tell me that! They are very professional, but we had a personal relationship with them, and I consider them a very important part of our family's history! I highly recommend this agency.
They helped me with my homestudy, my dossier, the adoption of my son, the post-placement visits, and ANY other question that I could possibly have. Mr. Eckman is great and very knowledgable.
The Datz Foundation was highly recommended by a friend who adopted two children through their agency. I especially appreciate Mr. Eckman who has helped a number of clients with adoption legal issues, including some who needed advice after troubles with another agency they were using.
