I can't speak for experiences in being a birthmother, but I can speak in an experience as being an adoptive family. I can say that this agency has been extremely helpful for us---when we needed help with specific subsidy issues on a baby they placed with us. IMO, they've gone far and above what they've had to do in order to help us out.
This agency was very poor. They came into my hospital room after sending me paperwork and pamphlets. (The page with the "birth mother's" rights was missing.) They came the day after my daughter was born. (I have the medical records with the dates). I had repeatedly said that I wanted to keep and raise my daughter, however, they refused to leave. After hours of making me feel like I was incapable of raising her, they reviewed all of my paperwork. I was on many medications and not in my best condition to deal with such things. It was only after they promised me that I would still be a part of my daughter's life (open adoption) that I signed the papers. However, since then, the adoption was closed, as I found out later that open adoption is not legally enforceable in any state. Also, the paperwork was post dated, and there were two dates written on all of my paperwork.
They are a terrible agency to go through if you are a mother considering adoption. They will not take "I want to raise my daughter" for an answer. I had had no prior contact with this agency prior to going into the hospital.
I also found out, years later, that my daughter's pediatrician was related to one of the workers in the agency, and I believe this is how they found me. I was on medicaid, and had an out of state license, and was thus, easy prey.
