In January of 1984 I had a baby boy and placed him for adoption with this agency out of Atlanta Georgia. I heard a few years later that they had gotten in trouble for transporting children across state lines or something like that, and that they had been doing other unethical practices and were shut down...for twenty four years, I have been worried about my son, and I would like to know if anyone who reads this knows how I could find out what happened to him, or if anyone knows of this agency and how I can find them and the records of my adoption?
I saw your post...I also had a child in 1984. He was also adopted through Friends of Children..Have you been able to find him? I Remember the doctor's name and the hospital...I just can't seem to find any more information. Has your search been successful? Please let me know
Dear Rebecca, I am in the UK so I don't know what public or charity services might be available in the US, but www.adoption.com has a number of people registered there, birth families and adopted children, so it might be worth looking there in case your son has registered. Good luck.
