Another thing that I would like to add....on 7/7/08 Fantastic4 posted the following comment
"Beware of this agency! Read their contract and have a lawyer read it. They even have a section in the contract stating if you post negative reviews on the internet they can sue you for up to $5000 per incident while you are under contract with them. Have you ever heard of such a thing. Its AMERICA...land of the FREE.

I have just read every word of my current contract and the contract that I signed in 2004 and there is NOTHING AT ALL that says ANYTHING along these lines. There is however a section that says that CAI can terminate the contract if a Family is ABUSIVE to CAI employees or makes derogatory or disparaging remarks about the CHILD or child's country of origin...I agree with CAI 100% on this one!!!
I have read my current contract. Im not sure what contract you have but its clearly in the new contract. Id be happy to send you a copy. They were great to us for the start of our process but as problems arise they begin to lie. Then it does not stop...its one lie to another...then threats. Everyone entering into adoption knows there are lots of uncertainties but good agencies tell the truth no matter what it is. Then they try to assist you through the problems. This agency did none of that for us. They lied, didnt answer emails, and ignored our concerns. 2 major flags should be:
#1 Reading all these posts on here show there are lots of major concerns with this agency.
#2 Hague Accreditation DENIED
I just hope your adoption has no issues or else you will see their true colors.
It sounds like you are unsure what to think about CAI from your two posts. I guess you have the confidence that your adoption this time around will be okay. I wish you well. I am glad that you have friends at the agency, I am thinking that will come in handy. There are disgruntled clients on this site for good reasons.
