Our son came home 6 1/2 months after our referral in the Guatemalan program. Things were not always easy due to changes in the adoption process in Guatemala. I was very frustrated many times with Commonwealth and their case managers. Now that are adoption has been finalized, I realize that many times I was frustrated with the system and not necessarily Commonwealth or its staff. The problems were really beyond their control. I am so grateful that they helped us to bring our son home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I forgot to write that this review is based on this year's experience. The only truly bad experience is that Maria T. never returned any of my calls or emails when my case manager was not available or I needed more information. I felt that as the Program Director for the Guatemalan Program, she should have atl east returned an email.
Our son has been home for a few months now. If I were younger, and my husband and I had the funds, we would adopt again. Thanks againt othe Commonwealth staff for helping us get our son home.
