These "legitimate agencies" denied me of service because I declared myself Catholic. These agencies are making a ton of money off of all of us. I am not against adoption. It needs to be regulated. These are "non-profit", but the owners are making 6 figure salaries. I work in education. We put together IEP's for students with special needs constantly. They are about the size of a home study. We don't get paid $2,000 per IEP to do it. There needs to be regulation. I understand you are worried for yourself, but you might find yourself in the exact same situation. I was told the following when I specifically asked about the state of Commonwealth: "Commonwealth's domestic program is thriving. It is the one program that is keeping things going. Commonwealth will not be shut down." This was told to me in May of 2008.
I got completely screwed by Commonwealth this past year, so i know how they operate and this was prior to them closing there doors, however I am with a hague accreditated agency that has my best interest at heart. It is one thing to go after CAII it is another thing to bash all agencies and adoption. Your are not just hurting the agencies you are stopping families from becoming a family and bringing children into there lives. I am prepared to support whatever it is to go after CAII but I am not about to put adoption domestic or international at risk because of this.
