Adoption Center of Washington?????
We just received an e-mail from Commonwealth suggesting a transfer to"ACW"-never heard of this agency-and also, they make no guarantee about this not costing us more. So, no clue about this agency's reputation or how much $$$ is involved in the end...right. And they sent this letter without addressing any of our other questions. I think we are better off switching on our own.
Gladney Center?
We also got an email stating that we are being referred to the Gladney Center in Texas. Same with us, no guarantee that there are no addt'l costs and no clue what their reputation is.
The email also states:
"Gladney’s Vice President of International Adoption, along with our Program Director, Ray
Mak, will be traveling to Taiwan to meet with all three orphanages’
directors to discuss this transition. That trip is scheduled for the week
of August 20th, 2008 (firm dates have not been set but that is the target
week). The trip will likely last 7-10 days. If successful, then you will
have a seamless transition to the new agency and your process will
continue forward. The arrangement, however, cannot be finalized until
after the trip to Taiwan."
Are you kidding me? What happens if it's NOT successful? Anyone else in Tx get referred to this agency for the Taiwan programs?
