Vietnam

I am noting with concern that CHI is still accepting applications for adoptions in Vietnam, even though the U.S. Department of State has issued a very strongly worded statement (back in January) that adoptions are likely to shut down in September. It is now May, and there is still nothing on their web site reflecting the reality in Vietnam. This is totally unethical.

CHI OVERALL- Too many issues to recommend

I spoke with Mr. Gantt (exec director of CHI) and he has known for some time that Vietnam had it's challenges. He acknowledge the Kaz program has had many challenges too but, didn't step up to the plate (at all) for "owning their problmes" stated CHI was "caught off guard" and mis-steps "do happen" (for over a year, that goes beyond a mis-step).

The only two programs that have some stability are the Russian and Ethopia programs. China's wait times are extending beyond 4 years that (as a revenue generator for CHI) is not the "stable" program for them that it once was.

If anyone has a compliant about CHI CONTACT THE COA!. I have and am filing a compliant agianst them. You can also file a compliant with the DOS Department of State.
