Please note that there are two agencies using the name CHI. Those are Children's House International and Children's Hope International. Don't confuse the two. It is best to type in the entire name.

Children's Hope International - Russia program
A very poorly run program. Our in-country facilitator was seriously over-extended and poorly supported. CHI's Russia program was more expensive than other agencies, yet the service was non-existent. Our adoption was delayed for several months due to CHI's lack of follow-up on our case. We adopted older children, and the people who work for CHI had no knowledge of the special issues older children face, and no idea of how to help the parents. I wish we had used a different agency, and I cannot recommend CHI to anyone considering Russian adoption. If you are considering older children, look at WACAP.
CHI Russia Program
I had heard the Russia and China programs were well run (which is what influenced me) when I choose to sign with CHI for their Kaz program. So sad to hear they have let that program to run into the ground as well. Your experience in-country in Russia is mild compared to what the Kaz families went thru.
