owner threatened us

We had a bad experience with this agency. The owner has threatened to sue us if we tell our story.
Also, the promises made to the birthmothers are not followed through. We have lots of contact with our sons birthmother and she told us the truth.

Strongly Recommend Adoption Advantage

We have had two successful adoptions with Adoption Advantage. I can't say that either one of the adoptions went smoothly, but I have talked to many families who have adopted with other agencies and rarely does anyone have a story that everything went great.

What I can say is that the agency did what they said they would do-help us adopt a child. We were matched with a mom very quickly after we signed up. We decided to pay the full fee up front and recieve a percentage off of the total fee-they did not try to force us to do that. We wanted to save the money. We were matched so quickly that we decided to go ahead and pay our fee again and get on the waiting list for another try at a match. The first match went fine. We had good contact with our caseworker until the very end. It was very stressful at the hospital and sometimes we felt like we were being left out because our caseworker spent so much time with our birth mother but we knew that she needed the support more than we did. The second match took a bit longer than we wanted it to-roughly another year went by and two other failed matches before we got the chance to adopt our second child.

Overall we are very happy with our experience with Adoption Advantage. I have talked to many people about adoption and as I said before, hardly anyone can say that adoption is easy. I don't think it is fair for anyone to blame the agency for birth mothers changing their mind-they have a right to keep their child. Everyone has their own view of how they want their adoption to be, but unfortunately, just like other things in life, rarely do things work out the way we envision them. It's not right to say bad things about people who pour their hearts into their job just because things didn't go the way you wanted them to. I am sure that if you keep working with the agency they will find a child for you to adopt-it may not be how you want it to be or when though.

Even though we worked with several different people during our experience with the agency I could tell that all of them were doing what they could to get us matched and home safely with our children.

I don't think we will be adding any more children to our family but if we ever do decide to adopt another child we would use this agency again and have recommended them to many other families. Good luck and Godspeed to all of you out there waiting for the joy that comes with being a mom or a dad.

threatened us

can you please tell us about your experience, you don't have to slander anyone, but you can certainly share your story like anyone else here. last time i checked we were still a free country with freedom of speech. we all have that right. don't succumb to scare tactics. that's why we have these forums to share info & alert each other of potential harm or bliss, as the case may be.

"Owner Threatened Us"

Hi can you please email me?

help

Can you share any more info? We are current clients and just had a failed adoption that was so awful. We traveled 11 hours, spent 2 hours with bmom and baby and the next day we were to meet at the hospital and the bmom took off. This is actually our 3rd loss through them in 1 year. This was the worst. We haven't heard boo from them since they told us to pack our bags and go home, which was 4 days ago. Thanks so much!
