Has Any One Worked With this agency (adoption Advantage)

We Are Not Sure, What to do this seems like a very Crazy Process. There seems to be some good reviews and some bad ones. We just want to make sure we are making the right decision. PLEASE HELP

Adoption Advantage, Little Rock.

Remember the contract was

Remember the contract was carefully worded by an attorney, working for the company, to protect the company.
Watch the words carefully. Match time is not adoption time. It is easy to get a quick match, but many matches fail.
Ask where you will be on the list. Then ask how many list they have. Ask how long the longest 3 people on all the list, been on the list.

Do not pay fees up front, offer to put the fees in a 3rd party escrow account to be paid on the 11th day after court, because the birth mom has 10 days to back out after court. A company not willing to accept this probably has budgeting issues and it should be a red flag about how the company is run. Do plan to put the full fee in escrow before you go to court.

Beware the birth mom cost these are usually in addition to the contract price. This includes mileage on company cars. Get the agency to place a cap on the fee's, and not per mom cap, but a total out of pocket expense, and get it in writing. These fees can be rather high, and you need to consider money given to any mom a gift, and no amount can guarantee a child in return.

I am sure there is more but that is enough for now.

big decision

I have posted on this website before. I wish I had a better story to tell. We have waited for over a year and have had 3 failed placements. Yes, we do realize that the fault does not completely lie with the adoption agency and bm's have a right to change their mind. The more specific you are, the longer the wait. We were gender specific at first (however we were still matched twice and offered a third so obviously it didn't affect the time frame much!) and now we are open. Adoption isn't easy, but we are sure ready for something great to happen. My biggest concern is the number of failed placements......as you call around and do the research I HIGHLY recommend asking this question! Is it 13% or 3%? Also, what funds are considered AT RISK? Keep in mind, every time you have a failed placement you will be losing anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. This adds to the stress of the loss!
I hope this helps in your decision making and I wish you the best on your journey to grow your family!
