I am currently using this

I am currently using this agency and I have been very upset by the lack of communication I receive. The lady seems nice however I have to find out what is going on by reading other web sites. I cannot seem to ever get through to her. Anyone else have this problem?

Good luck getting ANY timely

Good luck getting ANY timely responses from either Lisa Clark or Lynn Jacobs. They seem to be more focused on getting more numbers than the actual clients that they have. Building numbers seems to be more important than building relationships... My advice? Take a number and get in line waiting to be called (and getting a new number with each contact) or find another agency.

The Biz Model doesn't make sense

My only thought is the business model in adoption industry doesn't match up in getting fast, timely responses once the process has started.

All my fees to the adoption agency were paid last year, as my international adoption is not complete. All the incentive for responsive communication is now gone. I have a co-worker who recently adopted domestically, but with another agency, and we both came to this conclusion.

My preference would be to pay the agency by milestone as the adoption proceeds, or by the hour. I have no issue paying the money for the work they do. I can only imagine the accounting complexities generated by going to a milestone or hour basis.

While it may be crass to think of this in the terms of business, despite most agencies being non-profit, adoption is a multi billon dollar industry. I believe that the agencies should be paid for the work they do, but if the billing practices were more closely aligned with the work, I believe that the frequency and timeliness of responses would be more satisfactory.
