If you believe that a licensed counselor regulated by the Counselor and Social Board would actually encourage anyone...let alone a minor to run away.... you are no better than the "Jerry Springer" family who started the ridiculous rumor in the first place. You have to admire the fact the the counselor has maintained the client's confidentiality throughtout this process and not disclosed the turth despite outrageous claims.
I don't just believe it...I KNOW it happened. That counselor should have called in Stephanie's parents...not an adoption agency and yes, I believe her, and her mother and father and her attorney. Calling the Bennetts a "Jerry Springer" family as if in denigration is low and cheap and someone is in a lot of denial. This is a good, middle-America family with the normal highs and lows of any family. Just because Daddy drives a truck and they are not Rhodes Scholars doesn't make them trashy, as the term "Jerry Springer" family implies. I was raised by less-than affluent, southern mill workers and I had a wonderful upbringing. Has it occurred to anyone that thinking only the college educated and affluent should have children is close to the kind of eugenics that Hitler practiced?
