Even if Stephanie Bennett didn't "do it right" why on earth wouldn't ACW return her daughter to her as soon as they heard she wanted her back? A week or so with adopters vs. a life time of separation is hardly debatable.
As far as Ms. Bennett not doing something right or wrong, that is a moot point. The fact is that she was in a bad position that no one on this board but a few know about and she was confused. Her parents had legal custody of Evelyn and that should have been enough to cause ACW and the runaway adopters to return that baby to her family.
Even two years apart is not enough to break the blood bond. Ask my reunited children....over 30 years didn't do it with them and they both call me "Mom" and I am grandmother to the children. Sooner or later, people are going to learn that adoption isn't a win-win situation as it is touted to be. Adopters and facilitators win and the mother and child lose...they lose each other and THAT is the real tragedy...not someone losing the "idea of a child."
After reading the letter sent to ACW by the state, I know that the Bennett case is not the only issue, but I hope it is the one that breaks them, once and for. l also hope that adopters, such as the ones who have little Evelyn, start realizing that running with a baby is illegal and unethical, selfish, greedy and just plain wrong.
