I did not adopt with Robin, but I was thankfully helped by her. I was already in Georgia and had serious doubts about the health of the child I was there to adopt and my agency, Adore, was not helping me. When they finally did communicate with me it was with anger and told me that my only choices were to adopt that child, adopt the child and turn him over to them to readopt once in the US, or go home and never contact them again. Since it was clear the little boy was moderately to severely disabled, I had to choose the last.

I was in a country that I didn't understand the language, didn't know anyone else that could help me and I called her. Even though I wasn't working with her, and it might cost her to do so, she helped me. I was able to get videos of the little boy to US doctors, got in touch with a reliable doctor in Georgia, and treated like a human being - unlike Adore. I wrote a post on their agency site as well as FRUA chatboard. I would tell anyone not to use Adore, and would tell anyone to talk with Robin as she is realistic and helpful - no matter the situation. She shows her care and concern for the children first.

ADORE

Our experience with ADORE was extremely positive and as a result we continue to keep in touch with them. As with any international adoption we encountered a number of difficulties, like a revolution in Georgia that put our process on hold for over a year, but ADORE was always there for us and did whatever we requested of them. Unlike some other agencies we went through prior to working with ADORE, we felt as though ADORE was always looking out for our best interests and always kept us informed. It would be nice if adoption agencies had complete control over every aspect of the entire process but that is not reality. ADORE will be the one and only agency I will go to if my wife and I adopt again.

GLAD WE ADOPTED with ADORE

GLAD WE ADOPTED with ADORE which is run by two wonderful women!!!

Jennifer,

First, I want to THANK YOU for not adopting our son!!! He is the joy of
our entire family from siblings to cousins to grandparents to aunts and uncles all of which have welcomed him into the family and love him dearly. He fits so wonderfully into our family!

It seems that you and Robin were very mistaken. He is NOT severely disabled and does NOT have cerebral palsy as you stated in your posting. He is very happy, healthy, strong and handsome!

I urge you not to write any more about our son. You do not have the right to do so! He is our son and when he gets older I will need to explain to him not only why his birth mother gave him up, but why you also rejected him.

I will explain as I have explained to his older sibling that you were not ready to be his mother. That possibly, you were still morning the loss of your disabled child. I want to extend my sincerest sympathy. I cannot imagine what it was like to care for a severely disabled child and then loose that child. I truly hope that you can find peace.

Our experience with ADORE was very GOOD! Kathy and Irina are true unsung heroes. Being adoptive moms themselves, they started ARDORE as a way of giving back and helping the children they had to leave behind. They take a very personal interest in each and every child they adopt and make sure they find the “just right” family. The team in Georgia is used by both agencies and we found all of them to be very warm, helpful, extremely professional and pleasant to be with during our stay in country. ADORE answered all our questions and more than met all our expectations. I would recommend ADORE to anyone looking for a “personal hand” in your adoption and I have recommended ADORE to several new adoptive parents who are also very pleased.

You mentioned that you have videos of our son. Could you please send me whatever videos, photos and general information that you may have kept about him? Since you saw our son before we did, I suspect that your videos and photos are of him when he was younger. He will surely appreciate these mementoes when he is older.

THANK YOU!!!
