I have had wonderful experiences with this agency. I think they really care about the children. Adoption is not perfect. I think AOH works hard to get things done. I personally think if adoptive parents don't have everything go exactly there way then they bad mouth an agency. You cannot expect perfection in an African adoption. Africa is not like America and things do not work in Africa like they do here. Adoption is just unpredictable. If you won't accept this, than don't adopt.
As for cost, there are a few families who adopted through Acres of Hope that have there kids home and still owe AOH their adoption fees. So if AOH was so into the money, why would they have brought these kids home on their dime, knowing they might not get those adoption fees? Anyway my point is nothing is perfect and I think AOH are good, kind hearted people who do what it takes(legally) to get this sweet babies home to loving Christian families. I would adopt through them again in a heartbeat!
Tell that to the families suing them to get their funds back due to no referral. And ALL the money AOH kept because families pulled out due to their poor ethics and they said they would not give back money. They told these families "You can consider it a donation". Then they said those donations go to things like a feed program which later was proven not to exist by their own staff!!!!
No one is asking for a perfect adoption and you are naive if you think families are looking for that. Adoptive families are looking for an Honest, Ethical, open with communication agency that doesnt lie to them. And they charge the most out of any agency in Liberia for adoptions and for the guest house Because they ARE about money. The families are paying for the adoption and service therefor they deserve to have better treatment then what this agency has been given them. You may have had a great experience but that doesnt mean others didnt experience the opposite.

I would like a list of international and domestic agencies that returns money for a family canceling an adoption.
