Thank you for alluding to this topic. Five states currently have search engines on their state child welfare licensing authority websites: GA, CO, UT, TX and MI. The other 45 states should follow suit.
If all 50 states has these public records available online, perhaps we wouldn't have this one problem agency at all. Tedi Hedstrom lost her FL license and just jumped states lines and got a new one in GA with a new agency name. The Tedi Hedstrom example is a strong argument for state licensure authorities to do a thorough background check, including past licensure history of operating under other corporate names in order to grant someone a license.
