I am so glad to see someone finally put these people on this site. Faithful Adoptions is anything but what their name implies. They took the first half of our money and then left us to go it alone in Guatemala. My wife and I do not speak Spanish, past ordering from a menu, and guess what, neither does anyone from Faithful Adoptions. How can an organization working in Latin America not have someone that speaks Spanish? The lady that heads up the Guatemalan (and now Russian) adoptions, is the most unorganized person I have ever had to deal with. She doesn't remember your name (or your childs name) from one conversation to the next. Past sending emails to help you put your dossier together they were simply no help at all. The head of this outfit is at least from Russa and I'm sure he can speak the language, but past that he is just simply spineless. When our case began to fall apart he was nowhere to be found. Wouldn't answer the phone or emails...just worthless. With the support group that we have found on our own we could start our own adoption agency. Which is what we have almost had to do to complete the process and bring our baby home. I could write you the worst adoption horror story about this bunch except for the one single fact that they did give us a referral on the most beautiful, happy child. There are alot of agencies and we will certainly look for a different one if we adopt again internationally.
Hi,
I am experiencing some frustration with the agency myself. We were just told to hold on and wait to submit our dossier for Kazakhstan, and now have been told to switch to Russia. I am concerned so I looked to see if anyone had written anything about the agency.
Could you tell me who you were working with?
Thanks and so glad in the end you found your beautiful child!
Michele
We were told to hold on, wait, be patient so many times over a six month period that I lost count. We have worked exclusively with Sally Bretl and expressed our concerns to the director, Sergey Shepelove. Sergey is from Russa, so he may be of some help, but Sally is absolutely no help after sending you each step to prepare your dossier. That is where they dropped the ball on us and several other families. No return emails, no phones are answered and if you leave a message they may or may not return your call. If they respond to email or voice message there is a great possiblity they will not know your case or have completely wrong information on you. They are not Hague Compliant and as far as I have found have not applied to be Hague compliant.
I'm sorry for your situation, but to get through it you will have to be very hands on. No Mr. / Mrs. nice guy, if you have a question that they continue to avoid, push harder. When they start making excuses or ask for more money than the contract specifies then find a good imigration attorney to assist with your adoption.
Like I said before, I don't know how they are able to stay in business and keep a license with their work practices. If I can help or give you more specifics please send me a note.
