Small World Adoption Foundation (SWAF)
Love them!! There are ALWAYS surprises with in country changes, but SWAF did what they said they would. Used them twice and would use them again in future.
Small World Does an Excellent Job
I agree with the previous poster that SWAF does an awesome job in country but disagree with the "terrible job" comment on their communication in the US. We adopted 2 children from Russia in separate years through SWAF and our caseworker was wonderful in holding my hand (long distance over the phone) through the whole emotional process of the "wait." Our children are amazing and we feel blessed by the gift of our family that the many Angels of SWAF helped us to build. Adoption is a "hurry up and wait" process with what ever agency you use as you are dealing with a lot of variables out of anyone's control. Sometimes the wait is hard given you want the answers NOW but guess what- the patience does pay off and SWAF told us all that they could the moment they had the information from Russia.
Post adoption there is additional support through the reunions and the ability to "give back" via the humanitarion efforts.

Small World does an
Small World does an excellent job in country and a terrible job in the US when you're trying to communicate with them. They have a very good working relationship with Russian and Ukrainian facilitators and the agency heads travel there frequently. If you live within driving distance of St. Louis, this is probably a good agency to use as you can go discuss things face to face. If you live far away be prepared to be in continual darkness as to the status of your case. They support humanitarian work in the orphanages where they work.
