A caring agency

I only called one agency. I live in Utah, so I called Wasatch, I knew immediately after speaking with Kathy that she was going to help me find my child. I never called any other agencies. I knew they were the right fit for us and we moved forward. I loved working with a smaller agency most of the time. I liked how quickly my emails were answered. I loved how when I called the front desk I didn't even need to say my last name and Dee knew who I was, and she always responded with what I needed in lightning speed. There were a handful of setbacks in the paperwork that I found very frustrating at the time. But I realize now that it is just part of the process and mistakes happen. Kathy worked tirelessly for our family to find the right child for us. I felt the only downside of going through a smaller agency is hat less children were available to us because of orphanage partnerships (although with the new China shared list rules I don't know how this will change things). But other than that, I would pick the smaller agency every single time. All of our China affairs went on seamlessly and without any issues. I wasn't forced to book certain hotels or flights or have to wait for a travel group to pick up my daughter. At the end of the day, I have an absolutely beautiful daughter in my home that is more than worth all of the waiting, money, and paperwork. I'm so thankful to Wasatch and their guiding hands as we went through this process. Their hearts are invested and that means a lot.

Great agency to use for growing your family

Our family has worked with Wasatch on 4 international adoptions. We are so grateful for all the time & energy they put in to helping us bring our children home. The folks at Wasatch work diligently to match the children they are advocating for with the right family. Each experience that we've had with Wasatch has been positive. Adoption is not an easy process, there are always little glitches along the way, but the specialists at Wasatch work hard to ensure as smooth a journey as possible. We have and will continue to recommend Wasatch to anyone who asks our opinion:)

Meticulously run agency with a heart!

The folks at Wasatch have aided, assisted, and guided our family through 4 international adoptions. As a large adoptive family we have worked with many agencies over the years, Wasatch has been the best combination of knowledgable and helpful that anyone could expect to find! The specialists are obviously vested in finding the best possible match for the children they are advocating for. Whether you are looking into your very first adoption or a seasoned adoptive family, Wasatch is a wonderful agency with a great reputation. Adoption processes rarely go perfectly smooth, but regardless of whatever "glitch" you run into...Wasatch will be there to help iron out the details and get things moving in the right direction. As a parent of 10...8 through adoption, I have and will continue to recommend Wasatch to anyone interested in my opinion:)

Great, personal agency

If you are looking for a smaller agency with personal service, Wasatch International Adoptions is just the place for you. They are located in Ogden, Utah, but work with families all over the United States and around the world. They have a very experienced and caring staff. They are knowledgeable, honest, dependable and very easy to work with.
They are not one of the larger agencies with branch offices in many states, so their smaller size makes them ideal for the personalized customer service many families are looking for. The country programs they offer are well established and most of them have been “regular” programs for WIA for many years. This makes the in-country experience smoother and well planned for families when they travel.
A quick call to Wasatch can put you in touch with their inquiry specialist who can answer all your questions. This is a great agency with a lot to offer.

Wasatch adoptions

Wasatch adoptions is a competent adoption agency and their integrity is evident. I highly recommend them to any family choosing to build their family through adoption. Anyone who has used another agency and then uses Wasatch will notice a huge difference in so many things.

The staff all have adoption in their families so that they realize the emotional journey this is and are kind, compassionate and caring as they work with families throughout the process. Emails are always answered promptly and when the agency is called, you get through to a live person who will connect you to the person you want to talk to.

They will help with whatever you feel you need or give very clear emailed instructions for things you want to do yourself. There is no charge for helping with the dossier, just the authentication fees you always pay. It is wonderful!

Their system is one that never keeps the families waiting. They work with each family on a one to one basis and don’t hold any paperwork up to wait for others to catch up. This is such a huge thing to me. Waiting for a group before sending paperwork or being able to travel is not something I want to do and Wasatch will never do that.

Fantastic Organization

The Second Chance Adption Agency helped us find another family for our adopted son. Cyndi Peck, the agency coordinator, was a joy to work with. Her professionalism and honesty are unmatched and were crucial to enabling the readoption process to proceed smoothly. This agency is the only one in America which can legally facilitate a readoption.

I would wholeheartedly recommend them to any family who needs help in finding the right family for their adopted child.

Blessings of Children

My organization New Hope For Adopted International Kids has been networking with Second Chance Adoptions for seven years. Cyndi and her staff have been honest and professional to work with. In the process we have ourselves adopted some of our children through the Second Chance Adoption program. Each experience has been well covered with help and direction. We are thankful for the working and personal relationship with Second Chance Adoptions for bringing us together with some of our precious children. I highly recommend using SCA if you are considering adopting a child out of a dissolved adoption. .

daughter home

The 2nd Chance program is the one I know through WIAA and Cyndi was very professional to work with. She facilitated our calls with the other family and was nice to work with. She is a straight-to-the-point person in her communication, which I really appreciate. There were many children that we asked about adopting through this program and we were constantly told "no." (for more than 2 years!) I could have been bent out of shape because of this, but I know that it is because Cyndi knows the reasons the placement isn't working in the first place and does NOT want another failed adoption for any child. She is SO VERY careful about this and even though it was hard to hear "no, you're not a good fit" so many times, I'm really thankful that they are so careful. I would not want to have to dissolve an adoption because we're not the right fit--no adoptive parent does--and in the end, we were a perfect fit for the right child. I never thought we would get to bring our daughter home, but last week, we finalized our adoption and my little girl now calls me, "MyDad." "Thank you" seems so small right now.

Second Chance Adoptions

I saw a simple photo and fell in love. The ladies from SC responded quickly and lead two famlies to become one because of a little girl. We have a very open adoption because it is what is best for my daughter. The transition in our adoption was rocky because of a third party and Cyndi helped and backed both familes up so we could bring our daughter home. I am forever grateful and my cup runneth over with the love I have for my daughter. She has blossomed and without the help of SC she may not have found the perfect match in a family like she did here. I love the staff at SC and I love the family that chose me to be her mom.

Wasatch could NOT have cared more for our family!

After nearly five years in the adoption process and having worked with five different agencies, we adopted a child through the Second Chance program with Wasatch International Adoption Agency (WIAA). They absolutely could not have cared for us better throughout our waiting time and our adoption! They read countless e-mails from a heartbroken mom waiting for her child and took the time to show such compassion to me. They helped us complete our adoption and have checked in with us several times since. When we were transitioning with our daughter and her disrupting family, Cyndi was checking in with us throughout that transition time and on the way home. I could not have asked for better!

There are hang-ups in the adoption process. We originally started adopting from Ukraine with a different agency and for reasons we could not understand at the time, our paperwork just sat on someone's desk and was constantly delayed. We did everything we could to get that paperwork turned around and we just couldn't. It wasn't the agency's fault. There is only so much workers can do to get through the government red tape. This is true of our own country's adoption process as well. When you are a mom, in love with a child you have never met, it is difficult to wait and out of frustration and anger, we are sometimes quick to find someone to blame. It happens. I have been there and I get it. I don't know what other people's situations are, but I can speak for myself in saying that I absolutely could not have asked for better people to work with or a better experience! Thanks to Wasatch's Second Chance program, our daughter is finally home! We keep in touch with her first adoptive family and consider them great friends who loved and cared for our sweet daughter until we could find her. We are so thankful for this experience.

Best agency!

Wasatch is the best agency, after the earth quake in Haiti everyone wondered how the children that were in the adoption process would be able to get to their adoptive families. Wasatch’s program manager traveled to Haiti and personally brought the children home. Wasatch continues to be one of the top placing agencies in Haiti, what a blessing to not only the adoptive families but to the children of Haiti.

Wonderful Agency!

I completed an adoption from Bulgaria through this agency. They were with me every step of the way. I don't understand the negative comments from parents below. My first contact was with Kathy Junk. She is open, friendly and honest. Talk to her and I guarantee you will be satisfied and confident in this agency. Their goal is truly to create forever families.

Second Chance - RUDE

Unprofessional, rude, short, crass e-mails. No regard for the client. Zero professionalism. Bad communicators. We just backed out, done with these people. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially no one wanting to adopt or place a child!
